I don't know why I even bothered turning the channel on to B.E.T. I can't even tell you the last time I watched television let alone an award show! Apparently, I missed out on all the beginning acts, but was able to see Don Cornelious (which I might add was about to fall asleep on the mic) introduce The O'Jay's which Eddie Levert, gave the best speech on earth (People's was dancing and shit!) I'm sarcastic--bare with me. After these gentlemen left the stage with a performance it all went downhill after that. I don't even know why I had high hopes for this "Michael Jackson Tribute," but I figured it had to be good, right? WRONG! They gave out humanitarian awards to Alicia Keys and Wyclef Jean (shout out to Wyclef on the motivational speech, "Hut to the projects, projects to a mansion!") Janet Jackson, surprised us with a short, and distraught appearance --with words not even wanting to come out (unlike Joe Jackson, smiling and clapping like Michael has been gone for months or something) on stage to introduce none other than Jamie Foxx and Ne-yo to perform, 'I'll be there for you' with images of Michael in the background and a pianist. Hmmmm...when you see Jamie Foxx sing, doesn't it make you want to bust out laughing? I just think they should've had better singers for this tribute. Don't get me wrong, I like Ne-yo, but something was missing! So that sums up the hour I wasted, I guess I was one of the lucky ones to tune in late. So, after the horrific B.E.T. Awards/"Michael Jackson Tribute" they aired Jay-Z, 'Death of Autotune' video. A few weeks ago the track had aired on New York's Hot 97 and many listeners hyped this song up, said the beat was sick, and that he killed it and everyone was trying to get their hands on the sample. I'm not believing the hype of this song lyrically. What are your thoughts on this track and video?

I def missed the beginning, and was mostly amused than impressed with the BET awards. I thought about it and I think alot of talented singers didnt come out because they were seriously mourning:(....but my heart went out to Janet...she was strong: )
I also tuned in late, but unfortunately was still able to catch Drake and Lil' Wayne's horrific performance. Throughout the whole MJ "Tribute" and the other performances, all I kept thinking and saying was "Wow! This is why MJ is and will always be the KING of POP". Seriously, if he would have taken over the stage, his performance would have out-shined this whole tribute. I was very dissappointed, and did expect more, but I guess they did the best they could considering the circumstances. Regardless, there's no doubt MJ was/is loved....and the fact that everyone could come together to celebrate his life, was really a beautiful thing. RIP Michael Jackson.
Yeah, it wasn't a great show to me either. I felt like the Lil Wayne and Drake part shouldve been axed. If it was a tribute, then what does f-ing every girl in da world have to do with it? I thought to myself, if MTV or VH1 had to do an award show and revamp it to honor Mike, would they have done a better job? You already know the answer. I don't watch tv either, so I was at first excited but the BET awards came off as "n****rish"
